the pmu on my motorola phone is screwed up, i can make it go from a low battery warning to full battery by just turning the phone off and on again. it wouldn’t be so bad if it were actually low on batteries, because then i could live with it; but whenever i do the off/on thing, i have enough juice for another couple of hours before it starts warning me again. it seems more likely that my battery is suffering the “memory effect”. that would be fine except the battery is a lithium ion and is not supposed to have a memory effect. good grief charlie brown!

motorola reminds me of those big corporations where there’s too much red tape so they can’t do anything right, they used to be one of the leaders in the chip business but then they screwed up and dragged apple down for many years when their chips couldn’t compete pricewise or powerwise with intel’s. they’ve recently decided to spin off their semiconductor division and concentrating on other businesses, which probably means they’ll concentrate on wireless technologies like cellphones. if they do, they have tons of problems to fix. other people have mentioned that motorola phones have an odd menu system, that the positions of the dial and cancel buttons are reversed (meaning people tend to press cancel when they want to dial) and that their helpful features drive you insane. i’ve ranted about my phone before and while i still like the fact that my phone is small, there are just too many problems to overlook. guess what what brand of phone i won’t be getting when my contract is up.
