my midterms are done for the conceivable future and the two big assignment thingies i have to hand in are almost done so i’m in relaxing mood and looking forward to the next couple of days of fun.

tomorrow is a big, big day for engineers; officially it’s the iron ring ceremony (all you non-engineers should read up on the iron ring), but it’s also a day of much drinking and other crazy things. early in the morning at 8:30 i’m heading off for champagne breakfast (champagne and panckages) at some of my classmates’ place. then it’s off to the “walk-around” where we disturb and disrupt lower year classes like drunken engineers (hey we’re chinese…a lil champagne does that to us). we have to make a special stop at our 439 class where there’s “only half a lecture” since it’s a special day for us. yeah right.

then the plan is to sober up and attend IRC in the evening. it’s a weird thing, it’s very solemn and you’re supposed to dress up; but for a lot of people it’s probably going to be the low-light of the day. i hear a lot of people are going to wear a suit for it, but i think i’ll stick to a shirt.

after that it’s a quick dinner (and maybe free food at an MS info session? nahh too geeky) and then it’s IRS where we of course, drink some more! this one is going to be a mixed bag, we get to see and touch “the tool” (ooh so much innuendo) and anything you’re wearing that isn’t black will get ripped of you. it might be fun, it might not but hey…the whole day is going to be crazy.

after that i’m pretty much done for the week. we supposedly have class on wednesday but i mean, who’s going to actually go, so i get a head start on reading week. the only problem is i don’t have a whole lot to do on reading week. hrmm
