Parking at Waterloo is always an adventure for me. There is a surefire bet, which is to park on the nearby roads/complexes but I am too lazy to deal with the intricacies and procedures required to be successful at it. So instead, I just end up parking at the visitor lots. They’re closer anyways.

I park at the huge lots to the south of campus, across from University Ave. The first time I did this, the gates were up in the C lot, so I was able to drive in for free. Being a law-abiding citizen, this meant I had to loop all the way around, exit and re-enter so I could pay with my WatCard.

Then, I heard about how C lot changed from being a hybrid pay/pass lot to strictly a pass lot only. So the next time I had to use the visitor lots, I had to use the A lot. No big deal, except when I tried to pay my way in; my WatCard ran out of money. Fortunately, I had spare change so I was still able to get in. Actually, it’s a good thing that I’ve finally used up my WatCard money seeing as I hope to graduate soon.

Now the most recent time, I came prepared. I had loose change, and I knew where to park. So I arrived at A lot only to find the gates up again — which I drove through. So I thought, hmm I’d better loop around and get my ticket; I couldn’t see a machine in the lane of the entrance i drove through, so maybe I drove through the pass card lane. On closer inspection however, it looks like someone ripped the actual money machine off the island. I guess I couldn’t pay even if I wanted to.
