a more complete story of what happened with the half life 2 source code theft. i’d also mention that valve is one of the many high profile tech companies in the seattle area of which also include: ibm, amazon, real networks, nintendo, microsoft, intel, boeing. a funny thing about the ibm building; it’s situated in the middle of downtown seattle right beside the church/sushi place, which is odd considering most of the ibm locations in toronto are more suburban.

seattle’s also where starbucks and united parcel service started. another funny story is the original location of ups. the store’s no longer there, but the frame now shelters a pretty nice waterfall garden near pioneer square. the area’s fairly ghetto so i’m not surprised they don’t have a storefront there anymore, but it’s pretty odd walking in the area only to find a waterfall garden beside some druggies shooting up, then walking behind it to find out that this was where the first ups was.

anyways, on a more recent tip; i’m going to catch the mariners play the angels tomorrow-kinda. it’s still tuesday here, but it’s wednesday in EST so by the time you read it, i’ll be going tomorrow. anyways, i hear they suck this year but ichiro might break some crazy-old record for number of hits in a season. i’m not really into baseball, but since i’ve been wanting to go watch the jays for awhile, this will have to do.
