On Saturday, we went to Edmond and Selina’s wedding near the Distillery District. Edmond was a roommate for mine for 4 of the 5 years we were at Waterloo although we haven’t seen each other too much after graduation. It was a bit different than the other weddings we had been to before. After the ceremony, the reception was held in an open space, with no defined seating.

There was also a candy bar, working photo booth, someone doing caricatures, and other activities.

The food was catered by the Food Dudes in a Western style, with appetizers and a couple of food bars/stations where dinner was cooked and provided to all the guests. They also did some neat things, like make ice cream on-the-spot with liquid nitrogen.

During the reception, if wanted Edmond and Selina to kiss, you had to dress up in a Pikachu suit. In fact Pikachu made a couple of other appearances during the night, including a game where the they had to make him explode without using hands.

The cake was a pair of gummi bears, who were eventually cut up.

It was an interesting and different night, congrats to the newlyweds!
