even though it has a real message for kids, i think that nas’ i can is one of the worse songs ever. why? because it’s sacrilage to sample beethoven’s fur elise for a rap song. so i was excited when i saw an article on slate titled please, stop turning sublime classical works into dance music, i thought that finally some music critic would go up to bat for me about the mockery hip hop makes of classical music (though on the other hand i can’t wait for tone rows to make it in). of course it was not to be, the writer was just lamenting how classical pieces were being performed faster and faster.
