Once in awhile, I would surf over to my iGoogle page and click the Add Stuff button on my page. The reason is because I want to check up how Free iTunes Downloads is doing in the homepage content search. What irks me is that FiD appears twice in the search for iTunes. I want my site to only appear once, and preferably my feedburner entry so that I can accumulate stats accurately. I’ve searched the iGoogle site up and down, and while they have a lot of support for gadget developers, there’s not a lot you can do about combining RSS feeds together.
I was quite happy to read yesterday that Blogger and Feedburner (both owned by Google) have added functionality to blog*spot blogs to redirect the main RSS feed on their blogs. So now, people that subscribed to the generic blog*spot feeds will show up in my Feedburner stats. I enabled the redirect and checked my stats this morning, now I’m up to 151,000+ subscribers! More than three times the number I was at earlier this month! In fact, I’m now in the top 10 of Feedburner blogs with most subscribers.
