Pauline, Jeb, Nelson, Kitty, and Ben met up early afternoon yesterday to head to the Toronto Condo Show. The show was kind of expensive, $16 for admission but Best Buy was offering a 2-for-1 coupon since they were one of the sponsors. So we went, and luckily on our way there, we had to walk above the show flow. We looked through some windows to see what the show was like, and it wasn’t really what we expected. The show should have been called the Condo-Filling Show because it was a convention to buy leather furniture, fireplaces, electronics, and waterfalls for your condo. I was attracted by some of the seminars that they were putting on, but not enough to actually pay $8 to go in.

So that plan was scrapped and we slowly made our way through the PATH to Eaton Centre. We had to pick out a birthday card for Victor in the next four hours, and surprisingly it only took us three (3) hours to do this! I learned something though; apparently young girls have such a self esteem problem that when the receive birthday cards that describe them in a good way, the card has to specifically say that the card is describing them (that’s … YOU!!). OMG societal problems.

A little bit later, we met up with the rest of the people: Horace, Peng, Charlie, Chard, Aaronisian, Victor, Janet, and Rishi for dinner at Bocca on Baldwin. We picked this reason primarily because it was the only one in the neighborhood that seemed to be able to fit the 13 odd people our party had grown too, and being reasonably priced. That may have been a mistake because the restaurant was sparsely packed on a Saturday night for a reason; the portions were somewhat small and unmemorable.

We hurried through dinner because we had to make a 8PM movie at U of T. After meeting up with Chobodude, we made it to the Reel Rock Tour right on time. The was a showing of two rock climbing documentaries which we were interested in because rock climbing is the new Warcraft. I haven’t moved on to climbing yet, but I have to admit the free climbing was pretty amazing. Also I liked the flash climbing because it made some of the people look like lizards! Between the movies, everyone in the audience wearing red (like me) received a free can of Red Bull and there were giveaways where Aaron won a backpack from MEC. He also organized our outing to the movie. Coincidence???? HMM

The night was still young, and we went to the Madison Ave Pub afterwards. My first time there, and this place was a maze. We got split up so we decided to meet at the 2nd floor kitchen. W(here)TF is the 2nd floor kitchen? What floor am I on anyways?? Our plan to get Victor drunk had some hilarity in it and Charlie/Ben somehow pulled 3 girls to pose with Victor for photos, but I think there could be more craziness…next year!

We went back up to my hood for some after drinking grub at the local BBT shop. I also swung by home to pick up my camera, since we had yet another mental breakdown and none of us photobloggers brought our camera (watch, next time we will ALL bring our cameras and be redundant). Also I apparently suck at using my camera because the few photos I did take were blurry and not properly focussed. I blame too much BBT, low light, and well.. plain suckiness.
