After Iceland, we flew in to Bergen. We decided on Bergen instead of Oslo because by flying into the most Western part of Norway, we could do a one-way Norway-in-a-nutshell tour (NIAN). The NIAN tour is actually a real itinerary where you see some of the best natural Norway sites. Since we were trying to fit it into one day, we would see the fjords and ride the rail through most of the mountainous terrain before arriving in Oslo.

One hitch here was that the official tour started early in the morning and had us arriving into Oslo around 11:30PM. That kind of sucked because Oslo hotels are expensive! Instead, we researched our own itinerary of the NIAN tour that started later and ended with an overnight train into Oslo.
