The male superheroes like Spiderman and the Hulk have had their share of the spotlight, so recently there have been a lot of movies centering around female superheroes. Ultraviolet played out more like a music video than a movie, and from the beginning Aeon Flux seemed to be the same way.

The fact that it was an MTV Films production did not help the cause. The certainly was an emphasis on style in the utopia 400 years into the future but it was much more classy than the city of the future in Ultraviolet. Beyond that, it developed into your usual sci-fi movie. There was a sketchy plot with hastily introduced characters and lots of action! I suppose there is some social-moral message to get out of the movie, but I couldn’t really find it.

It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that great. 3 stars out of 5 then.
