Ottawa, you got owned, and my playoff record fell to 12-3. I guess it’s time to be a Leafs fan again and laugh at our provincial counterparts. I watched most of the games, and after the first game, Ottawa was pretty screwed as the Ducks finally clamped down on their penalty-taking. I could go on about how Ottawa didn’t put in any effort, but I’ve had enough hockey for awhile. That being said, I can’t take a hockey blogging break without commenting on how ludicrous Antropov’s new contract is. He’s getting double his pay from last season (which was by no means breakthrough or spectacular, in fact mediocre is a good word), he’s getting 2/3rds of Tucker’s (already generous) salary, and more than Stajan and Steen combined. You can expect that when Stajan and Steen’s contracts are up next year, that the will demand that type of cash. Oh yeah Peca and Lindros were both making less than Antropov when they played for the Leafs. How wrong is that?
